Schwartz’s of Montreal

A lunch visit with my Sister to a Montreal institution, the Hebrew delicatessen Schwartz’s, which ‘serves the best smoked meat from the original recipe of spices since 1928.’ There were queues out the door, due largely to its status as a tourist attraction. It’s even inspired a stage production ‘Schwartz’s: The Musical.’ If no-frills Corned Beef Sandwiches are your thing, look no further. The meat is ordered by the fat content: either lean, medium, or fatty. The classic Schwartz’s meal include a medium-fat sandwich, fries, half-sour pickle, coleslaw, red pepper, and a black cherry soda. We went for everything but the fries.
