We put the crab cages on the nose end of our surf boards and paddle out to deeper water, drop the cages (or &#8216;pots&#8217; is what they call &#8217;em) attached to rope and buoy, paddle back to shore and let them sit there about 1.5 hours. Then we paddle back out, pull up the pots, and we get about 20 crabs on average, around half are big enough to keep and the smaller ones we throw back. Take them home, kill, clean, boil, and the feast is on.
